Yoga outdoors

I have been teaching yoga classes outdoor in the park lately and it has been a great experience to be in the nature. It is also an execllent opportunity to connect with the elements around and actually feel the breeze and the sound of the nature.

It was great to see the students getting into the flow 'Vinyasa' of the sequence and bringing their awareness into the breathe.

People from all modes of life come to practice yoga and to see if they can let go of any expectations and judgements of themselves and just be there, enjoy and have fun.

It has been a fulfilling experience so far to see everyone leave the class feeling like a different person with whatever they choose to be.

Namaste.

Hunching while working at your desk for hours?

Do you sit at your desk for hours at work?

Do you start hunching after a while looking at the computer?

Try a standing Camel pose!

Step 1. Stand up tall.

Step 2. Lift your shoulders up, back and then down.

Step 3. From that position interlace your fingers at the back OR just place them on your lower back.

Step 4. Slight bend backwards upto a reasonable arch and feel the shoulders and chest stretch.

Step 5. Repeat this few times a day.

There you go. Another simple and straight forward tip to reduce daily aches and pains

Yours in Wellness.

Awareness into your breathe

I have been trying to work on some techniques to remain calm in stressful situations and trust me its a hard one to practice. But the more I practice the easier it gets though. My family and friends have also noticed the difference in me lately by the way I've been handling things.

So here we go:

1. I take a deep breathe in.
2. Tell my self that the only person that can make me feel anything is myself.
3. Observe and acknowledge my thoughts.
4. By the time I do all this half my worries are eased.
5. Then depending on the situation I react with full accountability to my actions.

When the above doesn't work, I come home and meditate on it.

Sugarfree Soft drinks

Have you ever wondered what the difference is between regular soda and diet soda? If so, have you ever considered that neither one is good for you at all? If not, you just might be in for some shocking news.

By now just about everyone has heard how soda and the extra calories are not good for your body, especially when compared to water. But there is more to the story, it is by far just the calories that are hurting your bodies it is all the extra additives. Between the high fructose corn syrup and the artificial sweeteners you are adding a colossal amount of chemicals to your body that are not good for you.

You see, based on a study through Web MD about obesity and soft drink use one of the study researchers, named Fowler has the following to say:

"What didn't surprise us was that total soft drink use was linked to overweight and obesity," Fowler tells WebMD.
"What was surprising was when we looked at people only drinking diet soft drinks, their risk of obesity was even higher."
"There was a 41 percent increase in risk of being overweight for every can or bottle of diet soft drink a person consumes each day," Fowler says.

Recently in Central NY the local news channel did a health cast on the differences in diet sodas and regular sodas, especially those sodas that are diet with no calories.

What they said was that when you drink diet sodas your brain is thinking it is going to be getting all these extra calories, because of the artificial sweeteners, however, most diet sodas do not have any calories, so when the brain figures out that there aren't a bunch of calories coming in, it starts looking other places for calories, this is what causes you to overeat, and therefore the brain gets what it is looking for.

There are also several studies that have concluded that diet soda drinkers actually end up fatter than regular soda drinkers because of this very problem of the calories. Not to mention the artificial sweeteners and high fructose corn syrup.

What you really need to do if you are serious about your health is to stop drinking soda all together. The reason is none of this stuff is good for your body. The corn syrup for example causes the chemical reaction that tells you your body is full to stop working. This causes you to overeat for up to the rest of the day because your stomach isn't communicating with your brain.

You should try to switch to drinks like water, tea, or flavored water (by lemon juice or something similar). You might also want to try stevia. This is a natural sweetener that is sold over the Internet and is not risky to your health. You can find it by searching online, as there are many distributors. It doesn't have calories and you can use it instead of sugar for almost anything, and it is incredibly better for you than sugar.

With teas you will get a great fill of antioxidants as well. You see by switching out sodas of all kinds you can find many things that actually contribute to your health instead of take from it. Why not try it and see how you feel?www.fitnessindependent.com

The killer from excessive belly fat

A large number of populations out there today is obese and has excess fat over the abdomen. Lot of people are self conscious about revealing their body because they think the belly fat that covers their ab muscles and is ugly, the main thing they don’t realize is that the fat is not only ugly but also is a large health risk.
Excess fat over the abs is equally dangerous as the general body fat and this is clearly proven by scientific researches. The two types of abdominal fats that are present are called subcutaneous and visceral fat.
Subcutaneous lies right under the skin and on top of the abdominal muscle where as visceral lies beneath the ab muscle and surrounding the organs in a deeper level and is also the reason for the beer belly in lot of men.
Although both subcutaneous and visceral are serious health risks, visceral is more hazardous than subcutaneous. Forms of risks related to both fats are:

Various forms of Cancer
Sleep apnea
Stroke
High blood pressure
Diabetes
Heart disease
Other degenerative disease
Visceral is comparatively more dangerous is because it seemingly releases extra inflammatory molecules into the body on a regular occasion.
Reducing your abdominal fat should be your main priority if you care about yours and your loved ones quality of life! And you just have no other option. Losing your abdominal fat will not only flatten your stomach but also if you lose it enough you will actually see those hot six packs of abs.
Do I have your attention now?
Most importantly you must know that there is just:

No quick fix resolution
No pill/supplements of any kind, which will make your fat, go faster.
No gimmicks such as ab rockers, rollers, ab belts, etc. will help it go either.
It simply does not happen that way.
The only way to lose that abdominal fat is combining:

Proper nutritious natural diet [unprocessed foods]
Strategically designed exercise programs [stimulates the essential hormonal and metabolic reaction within the body].
Studies also show that diet & exercise combination proved to be more effective than just diet in terms of abdominal fat reduction.
It’s very important to know that to activate the loss of that tight abdominal fat just getting into a good exercise routine is not enough, it also gets boring doing the same. Even adding some occasional crunches, outdated weights training, or side bends won’t do any good either. Then they start wondering what’s going wrong as they have been doing this for weeks and months with no results.
To cut the stress of finding what the right way of getting is it done there are programs like ‘Truth about abs’ and ‘turbulence training’ from experts like Mike Geary and Craig Balentyne in the market to give you the proper direction.
Lots of people have good intentions at first to adopt a new lifestyle, yet they fail in their fitness goals a few weeks or months later by abandoning their good intentions and relax back into their previous habits which got them into that body fat situation in the first place.www.fitnessindependent.com

Fit Brothers

Hi, its Pawan and Manu, to be rated as one of the fittest brothers on the Planet we will need to be not only physically fit but also mentally, financially, emotionally, intellectually, socially and spiritually fit.
To make us fit in all the above aspects we obviously had a lot of help from different people in our lives. A new born baby doesn’t start running right away its born but goes through a series and steps of development throughout months and years of life. Similarly we had to go through a series of vigorous training, education, interaction, and travelling, competitive exposure to be able to reach the state we are in.

As I mentioned earlier we had a lot of help from people such as parents, relatives, friends, trainers and acquaintances to be fit in various aspects. A bit further we will reveal how and who helped us and how you can approach them or people similar to them to live a fantastic life and feel the freedom and greatness of being all-around fit.

All we hope from this website is to spread as much awareness of fitness and its benefits in our lives as we could.www.fitnessindependent.com

How it all began

We started competitive gymnastics since the age of 9(Pawan) and 11(Manu). We used to travel an hour and a half to reach the training centre. Every day after school our mom would pick us up and catch a train to the city, we then have a quick snack and change into our gym clothes on the train. From the city station we then would catch a bus for ½ hour to the training centre. This was our routine for the next 4 years. Rain, heat, delayed trains; nothing would dampen our spirit and enthusiasm. Initially our trainers told us you are tall and skinny you should go and do basketball or badminton but our will power and love for gymnastics combined with a strong support from our parents showed everyone that if you want to make a difference nothing can stop you. We started winning several competitions, medals in regional, state and national levels, by then there was no training centre left in the city which was advance enough to train us any further; so we started travelling to different states for a period of few weeks to learn new skills and come back and master them. It started becoming quite difficult for our parents to do the travelling around the country and frustrating cause that was not really the efficient way of training.

Enough was enough, my father a builder by trade used his own money to build one of the most advanced gymnastics centre in the country right next to our house in my town. We trained in our own gym with countries top level coaches for few years and not only won national awards but also represented our country in an international arena. After competing and winning several medals in the international level we decided to use our own facilities to coach other kids in town. We used our knowledge of sports and fitness to create champions not only physically but also mentally. Today our students are one of the nation’s top gymnasts in their own age group.

Just because we are not competing today doesn’t mean we are not fit. We continued our fitness regime and maintained our health. Also helping several others including friends and family maintain their health has become a second nature to us. Along with sports we also excelled academically. Pawan is Computer Engineer with a post graduate degree in Information Systems and Manu has a bachelor degree in Information Technology and a qualified Commercial Pilot, we both also have tons other certificates in various other industries. We both spend most of our lives training hard to get the solid fit bodies and mind we got today which we are happy of but we also have discovered other ways that a person could actually have fit bodies without going through a life time of hard training. There are programs which if followed consistently; one can achieve their goals in months. We will recommend you a selected range of programs for you to work on over your fitness journey on our website.

Once you have achieved your target fitness we will also help you maintain that fitness even if you get so busy in life that you won’t have time to spare few minutes to work on yourselves. They say ‘it’s never too late to start getting fit’ so don’t delays stand up and take some action.

Remember along with your physical fitness it’s very important that your emotional and spiritual fitness needs to be clear. Great friends, meditation, appreciation of life around you, positive thoughts, relaxation, are just few of the traits required to be introduced in life to assist in your fitness journey.
We are determined to share our positive energies, knowledge, experience, ideas and whatever it takes to make your journey in fitness a memorable one. If we don’t have an answer we will join you in finding someone who can.www.fitnessindependent.com
